There are a number of large Companies that have their own barcode types e.g : SARS , ABSA , NCOR.
- A standard bar code - this bar code is a duplicate. One part is placed on the envelope and the other is kept by the member to identify what was in the envelope, e.g. placed on the filing copy of the letter on invoice.
- Zipper bag codes - these bar codes are affixed to bags or plastic pockets that carry other bar coded items.
- Location bar code - this bar code is registered to a specific member, delivery point, branch or exchange and is then affixed at that location. The driver scans this when he delivers to prove delivery of the document.
